ABOUT THE PROJECT
Usonian style addition
Located in the first post WWII subdivision listed as a historic district, this 815 sf addition is a stylistic continuum of the existing Usonian style architecture of the main house. The austere aesthetic is accomplished by taking cues from the mid century modern language , post & beam construction, exposed materials in their natural state and floor to ceiling glass that diminishes the boundary between interior and exterior space. Major materials are heavy timber beams and rafters, exposed concrete block walls, aluminum windows and cork flooring.
